Are all meals provided or do I bring my own food?
In order to provide a restful place for all at the retreat lodge we will prepare all meals for you. We do not have the facilities for you to prepare your own food. Our morning meal is available self serve so you are free to take it to a quiet space or enjoy the flexibility of the morning. Other meals will be served in our comfortable eating area with other guests. If you have special dietary needs or need privacy please let us know in advance.

What are your rates?
Please email or call us regarding your specific request.

Can you help us facilitate our group retreat?
We have staff available to plan and facilitate retreats based upon your needs. Please contact us well in advance to set up a meeting to discuss your retreat. We will meet with you to insure that your goals and objectives are met during your stay. Facilitators are also available for special activities such as team building/low ropes if pre arranged.

Can I have a silent retreat?
Arrangements can be made for individuals to remain in silence during a retreat by wearing a badge during their stay.

Can I come on short notice as an individual or couple?
We welcome you to call and see if space is available for a visit at any time. If we can accommodate you we will. Weekends do fill up quickly, however, so groups need to book well in advance.

Can I bring a pet with me?
We cannot accommodate pets on the property.

Can I tour your facility?
We’d love to show you around. Please phone or email ahead to arrange a visit.

Do I have to be a Christian to visit or take part in a retreat?
Although we are a Christian retreat facility we welcome all who want to grow in their personal and spiritual journey.

How long can I stay on a personal retreat?
Most personal retreats are midweek and last from one to five days.

We would like a place for a family gathering. Can you accommodate us?
Families are welcome to come for a retreat experience to one of our planned family retreats. We can also help you to plan a specific retreat for your family. We are not a resort that caters to large family reunions.

What is the difference between a retreat lodge and conference centre?
A retreat lodge is geared to helping you rest and reflect upon your spiritual journey. Although there is an educational part to our retreats there is a focus on experiential learning and listening to each other, to ourselves and to God.

Why retreat?
Whatever type of retreat you come to our hope and prayer is that you will find renewal in body, mind, and spirit. Richard Foster has been quoted many times saying, "Superficiality is the curse of our age. The doctrine of instant satisfaction is a primary spiritual problem. The desperate need today is not for a greater number of intelligent people, or gifted people, but for deep people." (Celebration of Discipline, p1). By withdrawing from normal routine retreats can become a place to enjoy creation, slow down, reflect, seek direction and experience deeper relationships. There is learning and growth at retreats but in a way that will not leave us exhausted and stressed. We welcome you wherever you are on life’s journey and look forward to spending time with you at Kingfisher Bay Retreat.

What is a personal retreat?
A personal retreat is a chance for you to come away from the busyness and pressures of life and spend time focusing on your relationship with God. What happens during that time is totally up to you. It may be a time to seek direction or simply to listen, rest and enjoy a stress free environment. Guests may come to spend one day or many days to seek physical, emotional and spiritual renewal in a supportive environment. For those who don’t know what to do on a retreat we can help. You may want to take a book from the library that interests you, walk to beautiful woods and stop at the reflection points, go for a peaceful canoe ride on Stony Lake, try your hand at painting in the art studio, journal, use one of the retreat guides provided to help you get started or talk to one of the facilitators. There are many options to make this a meaningful, restful and fruitful time. The meals and hospitality will feed your body and soul. The benefits of time spent nourishing your inner life are far reaching and life giving both to you personally and to others. Many of us are over committed, living stressful and demanding lives. A personal retreat gives time for renewed vision, balance and a calm presence as we listen to the still small voice of God within us. The potential for creative living and genuine faith are multiplied when we take time to retreat.
